Humble Queen: Sinulog Queen sells “siakoy” in her neighborhood to earn money amidst pandemic

Beauty queens are often viewed as an icon of beauty, grace, and intelligence. Also, as they are being looked up by many, they also serve as a good example not just to their fellow women but also to the youth.

That is exactly what was proven by the newly crowned Sinulog Queen, Monika Afable. In the midst of a pandemic, Monika set aside her crown for the meantime and chose to help her family financially by selling “siakoy” in their neighborhood.

The said page described Monika as a humble queen who still puts the welfare of her family first before herself. Her title of being the Sinulog Queen did not hinder her but just escalated her effort to still do something to help her family especially during this time that all of us are facing a crisis.

Aside from the crown, Monika also brought home several corporate awards namely, Miss Mega Sardines, Miss Tender Juicy, Miss McDo Queen, and Miss Robinsons Galleria. She also won Best in Runway during the Runway competition held 3 days prior to the finals night.

Indeed, Monika is a true queen not just because of the title she owns but because of her genuine and humble background. Kudos, Monika!
