Unplug and cash in: Company offers $2,400 for 24-hour ‘digital detox’

The Salt Lake City-based company is searching for one brave technology addict willing to lose the laptop, snub the cell phone and otherwise ignore all technological devices for a full 24 hours.

Once accepted, the “Digital Detox Challenge” prohibits all interactions with cell phones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches and all otherwise grid-worthy devices, WOAI reported.

• The majority of Americans check their phones an average of 160 times per day, or roughly once every nine minutes.

According to reviews.org, applications remain open until 5 p.m. March 26, and the winner will be announced on the company’s YouTube channel on March 29.
