Premier League referees advised to offer breaks for players fasting for Ramadan – The Athletic

Premier League and EFL referees have been asked to allow Muslim players to break their fast during matches over Ramadan.
Players of the Islamic faith will be fasting in daylight hours during Ramadan — which will be for a month from March 21/22 and ends with the celebration of Eid — and are allowed to eat and drink again once the sun sets.
Match officials across England’s top four divisions have now been issued guidance to use natural stoppages in play to allow Muslim players to take on water or energy gels during evening games over the coming month.
