Organic food & & education for households in Rio slum – GlobalGiving
This first stage of the project will offer organic food for 3 months to 100 low-income families from Vidigal, a favela run-down neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, while they participate in workshops focused on natural agriculture, dietary education, and health. Simultaneously, it will educate favela citizens about health, waste, farming, and nutrition management, while stimulating the local production of sustainable and natural farming. In a couple of months, the natural food kits will be bought in your area, and it will be cultivated by the slum residents.

This task will provide susceptible favela locals recuperating from the COVID-19 crisis with access to high quality, organic fruits, and vegetables. Simultaneously, it will inform favela homeowners about health, farming, nutrition, and waste management, while promoting the regional production of organic and sustainable farming. In a few months, the organic food packages will be bought in your area, and it will be cultivated by the slum residents.
