‘Oh wow’ – Boots shoppers praise new No7 Future Renew ‘world first’ anti aging skincare range – Nottinghamshire Live

It has made headlines, created a Nottingham city centre launch day store queue of over 70 people and has been hailed as a world first. But what do customers really think of Boots‘ latest skincare products?

The Nottingham headquartered firm launched its new No7 Future Renew collection in store on Wednesday, April 12, with an eager crowd gathered outside the Victoria Centre branch eager to get their hands on the ‘game-changer’.

Billed as an innovative product to ‘reverse skin damage’, the four product range went on sale at prices ranging from £24.95 to £34.95, and included a serum, an eye serum, day cream and night cream in the line up. With the tagline ‘Don’t’ regret, reverse’, the products are hailed as tackling the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, lack of luminosity, dryness, uneven skin tone and loss of firmness. And, according to the retailer, beauty users can expect to see results within four weeks.

So, what has the reaction to the products been like so far. A five star review on the Boots website declared the day cream to be ‘amazing’. With the reviewer, who had received a free sample of the product, adding: “Cream is rich but easily absorbed, made my skin feel really hydrated and soft, love it.”

A similar reviewer wrote that they had “hydrated, firmer, glowing skin in minutes”. Adding: “This day cream starts off feeling rich but then melts into my skin and you don’t need very much at all. I love the way it looks on my skin with a glow finish that’s not overly shiny. My skin does feel more hydrated, firmer and plumper. I’m so happy it’s got a spf 40, in fact my skin has never looked so good – very impressed because a lot of creams with a high spf are thick and heavy but not this one.”

Someone else added: “Oh wow this is awesome I have found my day cream for life this is lovely on my skin. What a great combination of vitamin c, hyaluronic acid and Niacinamide. Been using this day cream for the past two weeks and can see the difference. My skin is not very dry as it was as I am going through menopause. OMG to top it up it has SPF 40 so even on holiday I’m in good protection with it. Loving this new skincare regime.”

More than 4,200 women took part in trials for the Boots product, with 97 percent reporting improvements in the appearance of their skin. It has also been No 7’s most diverse testing programme in terms of both skin colour and age range, from 30 up to 75 years.

However, not everyone testing the product offered up such rave reviews. One person said that they blind tested the product and found it “too thick and greasy”.

A one star reviewer added: “Been using this for 3 weeks. It is a very thick moisturiser and I wouldn’t recommend for normal/oily combination skin. Took a long time to sink in and left a white cast. On the plus side it contains spf.”

Another reviewer called the product “disappointing”. Giving it a two-star review they said: “This is a heavy cream that takes some time to be absorbed and leaves my skin feeling tacky and greasy. After regular use for around 6 weeks and not having seen any improvement to the target areas – tone, texture and fine lines – I don’t think its adding anything to my daily skin care routine. Its not for me.” With someone else calling it “too rich” for their skin.

However, most people loved that the products ranked as SPF 40. A three star reviewer said: “This is a great cream but slightly heavy texture. Love that this day cream has SPF 40 will use it during the summer months. I prefer the texture of my normal No7 day cream. No7 protect and perfect or No7 Menopause day cream.”

Overall, from 202 reviews to date, the daycream clocked up a 4.2 out of 5 stars rating, with most reviewers giving it 5 stars, 65 people giving 4 stars and 41 just 3 stars. Only 5 people gave one or two star reviews.

A team of more than 50 scientists were involved in the revolutionary innovation which used Artificial Intelligence, computer algorithms, machine learning, robotics and computer modelling. The global collaboration involved expertise from the University of Nottingham, Liverpool, and Manchester.

According to the manufacture, the range contains a new ‘super peptide’ and has been 15 years in the making in terms of peptide technology, based on research into how the skin gets damaged.
