In a large sample of privately insured kids who had older siblings with autism spectrum condition (ASD) and thus were at greater threat of developing autism, receipt of the MMR vaccine was not associated with increased threat of ASD, regardless of whether older brother or sisters had ASD. The findings show no harmful association between MMR vaccine receipt and ASD even among children currently at higher danger for ASD. The project was funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institutes of Health, and the US Department of Health and Human Services under agreement HHSN-271-2010-00033-C.
