Celebrating 10 years of holistic treatment

Detoxification helps to remove toxins and harmful substances from the body, says Dynapharm Namibia head consultant Moses Mukisa.

He says the primary goal of a good detox is to flush out excess fat, vitamins, toxins, or any kind of build-up – good and bad – which may be found in the body.

“Some of these are the natural products of metabolism. Some of them are artificial, like preservatives, chemicals, and pollution,” Mukisa says.

He says Dynapharm plays a major role in the complex body mechanism of detoxification.

Dynapharm will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary on 23 September, marking a milestone in the company’s journey of producing natural organic health supplements.

“We manage diseases in a holistic manner because our products are designed to deal with the causes of problems, not symptoms. We mostly deal with chronic diseases and try to reverse the conditions that led to these diseases in the first place.

“For example, we encourage body cleansing and detoxifying for individuals to prevent and manage conditions that result from the accumulation of toxins in the body,” he says.

Mukisa describes holistic disease management as a process involving treating a patient’s mind, body, and spirit to address the root causes of illness, as well as the symptoms of the disease.

He says the goal is to use traditional medical practices and complementary and alternative medicine to help patients with chronic illnesses live healthier and happier lives.

“If, for example, a patient comes in with a stomach ache, the holistic treatment plan would not be limited to getting relief for the pain, but to also address any underlying causes.

“What’s the patient’s diet? Could stress be a factor? In this way, the holistic approach would be focused on both treatment and prevention,” he says.

Mukisa says this approach is different from others because it contains details related to patients, their medical history, physical examinations, diagnoses and tests.

“The treatment also includes the medical model which focuses mainly on pain relief and symptom management. In the holistic model, the well-being of the person is seen on the basis of physical health, mental health, spiritual health, and lifestyle habits such as a diet, etc.,” he says.

Mukisa says Dynapharm offers products for managing chronic conditions like arthritis, asthma, constipation, gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome, infertility, low sperm count, erectile dysfunction, prostate enlargement, eating disorders, poor blood circulation-related conditions, obesity and more.

Body cleansing entails detoxification, which is the process of clearing, neutralising or transforming toxins found in the body.

Toxins come from an unbalanced diet, drug use, and environmental exposure. Internally, fats, oxidised fats, cholesterol, and free radicals act as toxins.

Poor digestion, colon sluggishness/dysfunction, reduced liver function, and poor elimination through the kidneys, the respiratory tract, and skin all add to increased toxicity in the body.

The pharmaceutical company is part of Dynapharm International, which originated in Malaysia in 1981 and operates in 44 African countries, including Namibia.

“Our goal in the past 10 years and the years to come has been to be a leading pioneer in health supplements. Our operations were birthed in Windhoek and have spread throughout Namibia to Ondangwa, Outapi, Opuwo, Eehnana, Okongo, Nkurenkuru, Rundu, Katima Mulilo, Gobabis, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.

“Our service over the years has been to produce natural organic health supplements suitable for human consumption,” Mukisa says.
