The growing season is still young, and luckily for those craving healthy produce and other farm specializeds, one local natural grower still has some CSA (neighborhood supported agriculture) options available. Earth Spring Farm, situated at 366 Stought Road in Carlisle, not just has routine memberships available, but also is searching for some farm hands who wish to work for a CSA box every week.
Mike Nolan, the farmer/owner of Earth Spring Farm, said he is seeking people who will make a 4-hour work dedication through the remainder of the season (around Thanksgiving). In return for those 4 hours of work each week, somebody will get a CSA box stockful of healthy goodies.
Routine CSA boxes can be picked up by members each Friday between 2-8 p.m. at the farm. The farm uses the flexible Harvie.farm pay-per-box plan so members can tailor their boxes. Prices vary from $59 for a small butcher box to $129 for a big butcher box or $49 for a little farm box to $109 for a large farm box. Boxes include things grown on the farm in addition to items from regional partners consisting of homemade bread, farmstead cheese, sustainably grown fruit, grass-fed yogurt, in your area produced cooking oils, fairly sourced coffees, and more.
The farm– which provides naturally grown non-GMO fruit and vegetables consisting of a variety of fruits and vegetables from Pennsylvania treasures to exotic specializeds, pastured eggs, and healthy soil– also includes a small soon-to-be-expanded farm shop where members can visit any day in between 7 a.m.-7 p.m. to pick up veggies and eggs from the farm, along with bread, yogurt, milk, cheese, pickles, kombucha, coffee, and other products from local partners. Grass-fed, pastured meats are offered online.
